The Lagos Socialite, three weeks ago, accused Don Jazzy of asking thugs to beat him up.
Barely three weeks after Popular Lagos socialite and former manager of Auto Lounge Nite Club, Princewill Ojukwu, accused Marvin Records head honcho, Don Jazzy, of sending thugs to beat him up at the latter’s night club, Pop, in Victoria Island, Lagos, the pair have settled their differences amicably.
According to Don Jazzy’s publicist, the peace move was brokered after his client reached out to Ojukwu and invited him to the Marvin Headquarters in Nicon Town, Lekki, Lagos, where he later apologized last week. He added that both parties also took several pictures together as proof.
Ojukwu who had hitherto petitioned the Inspector General of Police when the news first broke out confirmed that he had indeed forgiven the ace music producer.
For now, it is not clear whether or not Don Jazzy was indeed guilty of the accusations especially since he has kept mum on the issue all the while. Although the story went viral, the many fans of the ace music producer found it difficult to believe the accusations, especially since his calm mien and generosity has earned him a large following over time.
It will be recalled that trouble began after Ojukwu alleged in a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, that Don Jazzy asked his thugs to “take his life” after they both exchanged words at Don Jazzy’s night club, on Friday December 21.
He also claimed he was brutally beaten and stripped naked under Don Jazzy’s supervision and he suffered blunt force trauma to the eye, face and body, in the process.
Ojukwu also claimed that the producer later sent a text to him back apologizing for the beating and asking for an account to send money for hospital; an offer he declines.
“It’s not about the money. This could happen to anyone; it is abuse of power and needs to be checked before someone is killed all in the name of the other being a celebrity. Don Jazzy stood there pinging on his blackberry as his thugs beat me up, that is the last thing I remember before I fainted,” Ojukwu was quoted as saying last week.
